State turns into terror
The article discusses the phenomenon of the decline of the state's presence and the erosion of its authority, particularly in Lebanon and Iraq, where signs of panic are evident among pro-Iranian factions in response to initiatives aimed at strengthening state sovereignty. It indicates that the withdrawal of American forces and the interactions of Iran-aligned militias reflect an intrinsic refusal to enhance the state's power. Hezbollah, in particular, expresses fear that the Shiite environment might shift towards a commitment to state sovereignty, which threatens its influence and diminishes its illegitimate presence. The recent visit of Prime Minister Nohad El-Shami to southern Lebanon and the local community's response are highlighted as proof of a genuine desire to restore the state's role, despite the opposition from pro-Iranian forces, who display deep panic over losing control.
