Revised Iraqi Militias Tactics
The article indicates that armed militias in Iraq have changed their methods of launching attacks, especially those targeting Saudi Arabia and oil facilities, by relying more on drones. The factions are now concealing themselves behind new names and expanding their use of Iraqi territory to avoid the weapons restrictions announced by the Iraqi ruler following the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the country. It also pointed out the existence of smaller, more extreme, and more autonomous secret groups that make decisions outside the framework of official policy. These groups are more attractive to Iran’s military proxies and are pursuing goals of revenge and escalation with greater flexibility, operating away from surveillance.
