Suspected September 11 Planning as Fly Dubai Trip
Israeli reports have revealed that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) is participating in the investigation of Omani flight assistant Hummam Al-Hammami, who is accused of attempting to down a Fly Dubai aircraft that was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv in late September. Al-Hammami stated that he was planning to shoot down the plane over Ben Gurion Airport as an act of revenge for Gaza, and he told investigators that he intended to die as a martyr. The aircraft was supposed to be treated as a threat, with the Israeli military having a protocol to shoot it down if it approached Israeli territory. However, these plans were canceled after it was determined that the plane was heading towards Saudi Arabia for an emergency landing.
