Trump comments on US bomber withdrawal
Strategic American bombers were relocated from the "Fairford" base in Britain after security warnings indicated a threat related to Iran, according to President Donald Trump, who confirmed that the threat originated from a source connected to Iran. Trump explained that the move was taken to avoid a potential risk despite its cost, and he emphasized that the United States knows who is behind the threat. Iran denies any involvement and accuses the media of spreading false accusations. Five British men were detained near the base on suspicion of terrorist activities but were released on bail. The Fairford base is among the most important American facilities in Europe, capable of hosting heavy bombers, and has previously been used by the United States for defensive strikes against Iranian targets. After the bombers' withdrawal, Washington asserted that its military capabilities remain ready to carry out any operations, although the move might impact the ability to rapidly increase air missions against Iran.
