Missile intercepted near Riyadh; Aden evacuated
Yemen has experienced a wide-scale military escalation amid ongoing clashes between government forces and the Houthi movement. The group launched two missiles targeting Aden International Airport, with no injuries reported, and a ballistic missile was intercepted and destroyed north of Riyadh. The Yemeni army announced advances on the Taiz front and in other areas, while the Houthis targeted government forces along the Bab al-Mandab coast. Security and civilian sources confirmed that the conflict has resulted in the death of 959 people and the displacement of approximately 198,000 since early August, as the Houthis intensified their attacks on vital regions using missiles and aircraft. The United States has issued warnings about increasing Houthi threats and called for an end to the escalation.
