Labor Minister talks with World Bank on program updates
Lebanese Minister of Labor Mohammed Haidar received a delegation from the World Bank to discuss ways of cooperation in supporting the Lebanese labor market, including comprehensive digitization and updating programs that help create job opportunities. The minister also requested the bank to introduce new programs next year. Additionally, there was a discussion about the bakery sector, particularly the issue of regularizing the status of foreign workers, with the minister promising to follow up on the matter with the Ministry of Interior and the National Social Security Fund, while reiterating the request to extend the settlement deadline, which ended last month. On the financial front, the minister approved a decision to increase the budget allocation by 40.9 billion Lebanese pounds for the National Social Security Fund's 2026 budget and approved raising the inspection fee rates for doctors.
