Beirut seizes smuggled counterfeit tobacco
The Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Products Authority ("Regie") seized quantities of smuggled electronic cigarettes, counterfeit and smuggled flavored tobacco (ma’assel), as well as smuggled cigarettes and loose tobacco during raids conducted in various areas, including Al-Malla in Beirut, Al-Jamous, Ain Al-Sikka, and the Five Wings in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The operation aimed to combat illegal and counterfeit tobacco products. Violations were documented, and necessary legal actions were taken after issuing official reports; these cases are now expected to be referred to the competent judiciary.
