Agriculture Ministry Opens Inspection Accreditation
The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture announced the opening of the accreditation process for companies responsible for inspecting agricultural products intended for export. The aim is to organize inspection and monitoring activities related to pesticide residues and ensure compliance with quality standards and international criteria. Companies must hold ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation from a recognized international accreditation body, and must have a quality management system and reliable sampling procedures in place, in addition to qualified technical staff. The application process will begin one week after the announcement, and the submission must include the necessary documents to verify compliance with the requirements. This initiative seeks to enhance the reliability of export procedures and support the Lebanese agricultural sector.
