UNIFIL patrol catches fire in South
Participation in targeting the vehicle belonging to the Spanish Battalion operating within UNIFIL forces was an incident involving a fire caused by an electrical short circuit on the Shanouh Road near Kfarshouba. The fire was brought under control, completely destroying the vehicle, with no injuries reported. Lebanese deputies also submitted a memorandum to the United Nations and the Security Council, calling for a review of Resolution 2790 (2025), based on significant operational and legal changes in southern Lebanon. They emphasized the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability through international efforts, especially through UNIFIL forces. This initiative comes amid increased Lebanese demands for the UN to reevaluate the implementation of the resolution to ensure that no security vacuum occurs in the south.
