Facts on Najie Hayek and Lebanese Forces
The article addresses the misleading statements made by Nabih Hayek, Vice President of the Free Patriotic Movement, regarding the role of the Lebanese Forces in resisting the Syrian occupation during the Lebanese Civil War. It emphasizes that the Lebanese Forces and its leader, Samir Geagea, made significant sacrifices and directly participated in confronting the occupation, including important battles such as the August 13, 1989, battle, and coordinating operations with the Lebanese Army under Michel Aoun's leadership. It also notes that the Forces worked to protect water supplies and essential materials through naval operations against the Syrian blockade, and that they were a vital part of national defense. The article suggests that current policies aim to distort the true history of the resistance movement by the party.
