Jolting Issues Dahr El-Baidar Warning
The incident at the Dahr al-Baydar checkpoint, in which two Hezbollah members were detained with hundreds of kilograms of explosives, reveals the presence of a dangerous shipment prepared for use within Lebanon, possibly against domestic targets and not solely against Israel. Sami Gemayel, head of the Lebanese Forces Party, affirmed that this event is the most serious in years and requires extensive investigations, including dismantling the entire chain of command, and potentially targeting leading figures within Hezbollah. He called for ongoing investigations and warned against stopping at the initial arrests; closing the case after only detaining two individuals would be a scandal. He also urged for the purification of state agencies from Hezbollah affiliates and for firm messages to be conveyed in this regard.
