Riyadh Airport Closure Continues Houthis Targets Saudi Deep Regions
Sharing on Facebook, Sharing on Twitter, Sharing on WhatsApp Operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remain suspended after it was targeted in attacks on two consecutive days. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has issued a warning about safety risks to flights due to military activity and the potential for navigation system interference, leading to the airport remaining closed until at least midnight on Monday. This includes a decline in flight operations and security developments expected in the coming days. Saudi authorities continue to assess the damage and verify the safety of the facilities. These attacks follow the deaths of 13 people and injuries to over 311 others in earlier assaults by the Houthis on the airport, amidst ongoing military escalation aimed at demonstrating military strength and sending security and political messages. There is also concern about the potential impact on regional security and the economy, especially amid tensions with the Houthis and the broader region.
