Aoun Supports New EU Mission in Lebanon
The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, welcomed the decision by the European Union Foreign Ministers to establish a new support mission in Lebanon for three years, aimed at providing advice and training to Lebanese security and military forces. Aoun emphasized that this support reflects Europe's commitment to Lebanon's security and stability, and will help strengthen the capacities of legitimate institutions, achieve state authority over the entire territory, and enforce border control, in line with the government’s decisions and official stance on keeping arms within legitimate forces. He expressed Lebanon’s desire for cooperation to ensure the success of the mission, considering it an important step toward enhancing stability and supporting legitimate institutions.
