Occupation downs forces in Gaza Zones after elections
The Israeli occupation forces are planning to reduce their presence in the Gaza Strip buffer settlements after the upcoming elections scheduled for October 27, 2026. Reserve forces will be limited to areas less than 4 kilometers from the border, relying instead on security officials and preparedness teams for the more distant settlements. Residents of nearby settlements will be recruited into the regional defense system, leading to the discharge of many reserve soldiers, amid concerns about whether the protection will be sufficient. In the context of escalation, an Israeli bombing in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to others, including two who were martyred in Khan Yunis, marking ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.
