Al Jazeera criticizes Israeli intel actions
Al Jazeera Media Network has revealed that some of its employees were subjected to Israeli spyware attacks via malware targeting their devices, using technology that relies on digital advertising. Reports from the "Citizen Lab" have shown that 45 Windows devices were compromised between 2024 and 2025 through specially designed ads intended for internet browsing, without any user interaction. Investigations link the Israeli company "Discovery-Tek" to the hacking operation, as its advertising platform was used to deliver spyware developed by "CANDEROO" (now "Integrity Labs"). These attacks highlight the danger of exploiting digital advertising systems for espionage, posing a threat to press freedom and the public's right to information. Al Jazeera emphasizes its ongoing efforts to protect its staff from such threats.
