Sisi Confirms Defense of Saudi Arabia
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed that the Egyptian military action to defend Saudi Arabia is limited to protecting the kingdom's land and borders. It will not include an attack on Yemen or extend beyond Egypt’s borders or the borders of allied Arab countries. This comes as part of Egypt's efforts to support Saudi Arabia amid escalating tensions between the kingdom and the Yemeni Houthi group, which is allied with Iran. The Egyptian parliament's vote on authorizing the armed forces to support Saudi Arabia was postponed to October 26. Meanwhile, the two sides discussed regional coordination during a meeting in Riyadh.
