The Department of Social Work and School Health, in cooperation with UNICEF and the Libyan Mine Action Centre, organized a training and awareness program in Misrata to familiarize education staff with the dangers posed by mines and explosive remnants of war, as well as ways to provide psychosocial support to those affected. The program ran for three days, with six hours of training each day, and was aimed at social workers and health-care responders. It trained them to recognize suspicious objects and follow safety and prevention procedures when dealing with them, helping protect students and staff.
