The public prosecutor and the defense representatives in the trial of former American nurse Lindsay Clancy, who previously admitted to killing her three children inside their home in Massachusetts in 2023, are discussing her mental state at the time of the crime. Her defense team argues that she was suffering from a severe mental disorder related to postpartum depression, which affected her ability to perceive and control her actions, while the prosecution insists that the evidence shows she was aware at the time and bore responsibility. After five days of deliberation, the jury announced for the second time that they could not reach a verdict, leaving the case open and continuing the debate over criminal responsibility.
