Qatar affirms elderly rights a priority
Qatar affirmed that respecting the dignity of the elderly and ensuring their rights remains a permanent priority. The country announced the adoption of a legislative and health framework to protect them, reflecting their social standing and guaranteeing their access to healthcare and social services. It was clarified that the state uses the term "Majestic Elders" instead of "the elderly" to show appreciation for their status, relying on national laws and the Vision 2030 development plan to foster respect and safeguard their rights. Qatar emphasized the responsibility of the state, family, and society in ensuring that seniors enjoy their rights and freedoms, thereby maintaining their dignity amidst health and cognitive challenges.
