Qatar is participating in a side event in Geneva on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, with the aim of promoting data-driven, indicator-based reporting on the rights of persons with disabilities. Dr. Hind Al-Muftah affirmed that Qatar was one of the first countries to join the convention and is actively working to foster regional and international cooperation through initiatives and UN resolutions. The country is also preparing to host the fourth Global Summit on Disabilities in 2028. The event seeks to enhance the effectiveness of monitoring and reporting to measure real progress in the rights of persons with disabilities, and to support more accurate and transparent decision-making.
