Qatar focused on welcoming the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors’ decision to close the non-compliance file related to Syria and to remove its name from the list of non-compliant countries. Doha considered this decision as an opportunity for Syria to restore its normal status within the agency and to open the way for it to benefit from peaceful applications of nuclear energy. Qatar also expressed confidence that this decision would support development efforts, reconstruction, stability, and the improvement of living standards for the Syrian people.
