Qatar Museums Hosts First Middle East Exhibit by Giuseppe Penone
The exhibition "Giuseppe Penoni: The Cosmos Within" at the National Museum of Qatar presents the first showcase in the Middle East of works by Italian artist Giuseppe Penoni. It explores the evolution of his art from 1970 to the present and highlights the relationship between humans and nature. The exhibition features more than 50 works, including sculptures, drawings, installation pieces, and photographs. It is organized into five sections that focus on key elements of Penoni’s creative experience, such as water, the sun, wind, and sand. Additionally, the works interact with the museum's architecture and include designs inspired by natural concepts, aiming to showcase the vision of this exceptional artist and document over fifty years of his practice. The exhibition runs until February 13, 2027, accompanied by a series of programs that deepen audience engagement with his ideas and foster a dialogue between art and the environment.
