The U.S. Central Command announced that American forces have diverted the course of 67 commercial ships since the resumption of the maritime blockade imposed on Iran on July 14. Three ships were stopped, and boarding actions were carried out on two others as part of maritime measures against Iran. This occurred concurrently with the arrival of the USS George Washington aircraft carrier in the Middle East to bolster military presence and the blockade, while the USS Abraham Lincoln is expected to return to the United States soon. Washington confirmed that these actions are part of its efforts to pressure Iran, while the Iranian Foreign Minister described these operations as an attempt to distract from the internal crisis in the United States, warning that they will lead to additional defeats for Washington.
