Camel missing from Jazan slits
The article discusses the development of sesame oil industry, specifically "Salit," in the Jazan region, with a focus on the transition from traditional methods using camels to modern, electricity-powered techniques. The region has seen an expansion of automated Salit presses that produce purer and higher-quality oil more efficiently and swiftly. The article explains that sesame cultivation occurs mainly in two seasons, autumn and summer, with the crops taking about three months to mature. There are various types of sesame, differing in color and oil content. It also notes that the advancement of pressing facilities has helped protect animals and improved the oil extraction process, thanks to support from the "Reef" program, which encouraged the adoption of modern technologies. These developments have led to increased production and better quality, forming part of the region's efforts to boost agricultural output and meet local demand.
