The article discussed the failure of the Arab Renaissance movement, which aimed to modernize and develop Arab countries since the late 18th century. It pointed out that this renaissance did not produce any significant industrial or military achievements. The author noted that intellectual conflicts and disagreements among different parties, along with the tyranny of rulers, contributed to the decline and deterioration of the Arab situation. Despite this, the peoples continued to cling to the past, even with its harshness. The article also emphasized that the Enlightenment movement, which believed in the existence of a geographical and political unity, failed due to the division of countries after World War II and the stratification of power relations between the core and peripheral states. This, according to the writer, hindered the primary goal of the renaissance, ultimately leading to an escapism from reality.
