Five vie for Al-Ahli post
Reports named five potential candidates to replace Marino Pušić as Al Ahli coach after the team’s 6–1 defeat to Al Shabab in the 12th round of the league: Frenchmen Didier Deschamps and Laurent Blanc, Morocco’s Walid Regragui, Portugal’s Vítor Pereira, and South Africa’s Pitso Mosimane. The names emerged amid fan anger following Al Ahli’s heaviest league defeat since professionalism was introduced, and ahead of its match against Qatar’s Al Sadd in the AFC Champions League Elite.
