Yasser Al-Mishel's resignation follows key meeting
The President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Misehal, announced his resignation from his position following the team's exit from the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. This has led the federation to initiate a transitional phase, including convening an extraordinary general assembly within 15 days to approve his resignation and hold elections for a new council. Al-Misehal has been the head of the federation since 2019, during which the national team qualified for the World Cup twice, but did not win any titles.
