Ajax to lose Baumann until September
Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam announced that their defender, Aron Bouwman, will be sidelined until the end of September due to a bruised sternum and lung injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Eindhoven after a rough tackle by Robin van Bavel. Bouwman (19 years old) was taken to the hospital following Van Bavel’s challenge, who is the son of former midfielder Mark van Bavel; the incident also involved a confrontation that resulted in four yellow cards being issued. It is expected that Bouwman will be discharged from the hospital today and remain out of action until the end of the month.
