Kirosh leaves Ghana after 5 months
Just five months after taking on the task of coaching the Ghana national football team, the Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz decided to leave the position due to unsatisfactory results. The team lost its recent matches against Gambia and Côte d'Ivoire, leaving them at the bottom of the group standings with zero points after two games. During his tenure, Queiroz led the team in seven matches, achieving one victory, two draws, and four losses. The team scored five goals and conceded ten. His decision comes after failing to improve performance. He previously served temporarily during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where Ghana was eliminated in the round of 32. The Ghana Football Association appeals for a long-term vision despite the short tenure of Queiroz.
