Bahrain GP: Leclerc Lead, Verstappen Fastest
Coverage of the second free practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix as part of the Formula 1 World Championship, which was held at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia instead of Bahrain. Charles Leclerc, driving for Ferrari, topped the times with a 1:37.528-minute lap, finishing less than a tenth of a second ahead of Isaac Hajar, while Lando Norris finished third. The session revealed challenging track conditions, with forecasts suggesting that severe tire wear would be a key factor in the race. Lewis Hamilton was called in for an investigation due to a corner obstruction. The session was halted before the end due to a mechanical failure in one of the drivers' cars. Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri remains at the top of the championship standings, 66 points ahead of teammate Russell, with Verstappen aiming for his first victory of the season.
