The Syrian Ministry of Justice confirmed that former Minister of Justice Kinda Shamat remains detained pending investigation and trial on other charges. It clarified that reports about her being released from prison are false. The Ministry explained that the investigating judge decided to release her on bail with travel restrictions, but the case is still under investigation. The release does not mean the charges have been dropped or the case has concluded, and she may be re-arrested depending on the progress of the investigation. The Ministry called on those who are affected or have evidence to present it to the judicial authorities to assist in completing the investigations.
