An unusual incident occurred in Kyiv after the owner of an apartment returned from the Akadem Mistetsko area following an absence of nearly a week. Hundreds of bats entered through the open windows. Volunteers managed to rescue 381 bats that had temporarily taken refuge in the apartment during the autumn bat migration season, when animals often enter buildings in search of sheltered locations. Experts warned against keeping windows open for extended periods during migration season and recommended using fine protective screens to prevent bats from entering homes.
