The Austrian police have detained a 25-year-old Syrian man on suspicion of involvement in the murder of another Syrian, aged 26, in Vienna. This comes weeks after an incident that took place in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus neighborhood. The crime occurred on the night of August 11, 2026, following a physical altercation in the Gaudenzdorfer Gürtel area. It is believed that the motive is related to disputes within the drug scene. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds inside the courtyard of a building and died despite rescue efforts. The police were able to identify the suspect after several weeks of investigation, and he was arrested in Vienna. He admitted to participating in the incident but denied responsibility for the fatal stabbings. The details of his identity remain precise, and the full reasons for the crime have not been disclosed.
