The Ukrainian parliament is currently discussing a bill aimed at decriminalizing the production and distribution of adult pornography and integrating it into the tax system, with the goal of turning an existing activity into an official source of revenue for the state. It is estimated that legalizing the sector and imposing taxes could bring approximately $25 million annually to the treasury, which could be used to fund military operations against Russia. Although the legislation still requires final approval, the proposal comes as part of an effort to reconcile current laws that criminalize the activity with the practice of operating informally, while also leveraging potential revenues to support the country’s military efforts.
