President at Rastan Bridge opening: Rebuilding Syria's legacy
President Ahmed al-Sharj inaugurated the Rastan Bridge in Homs after its rehabilitation, considering that reconstruction and rebuilding are the hallmark of the new Syria, and that rebuilding trust among Syrians is a top priority. The bridge was targeted and damaged by the previous regime during the Defensive Deterrence Battle in December 2024. Rehabilitation work began in early 2025, in coordination between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and international agencies, with the aim of facilitating traffic flow, connecting central Syria regions, and reducing accidents.
