Naama urges trial of Syrian locally
The article discusses the trial of Magdy Nema, the former spokesperson of "Jaish al-Islam," before a French court on charges related to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during his time with the faction. The trial is based on the principle of universal jurisdiction, following his arrest in France in 2020. This issue goes beyond the personal case, reflecting broader debates about the intersection of international justice with the Syrian conflict, as well as the conditions of his detention and the rights of the accused.
