China tests additive to reduce space mission costs
The Chinese company Z Trak Space is developing a rocket launch system based on supercritical carbon dioxide gas instead of a traditional combustion model, aiming to reduce costs and improve safety. The system relies on "cold launch" technology, where the rocket is propelled using high-pressure gas before engine ignition upon reaching a certain altitude. This approach minimizes damage to facilities from rocket exhaust and lowers maintenance costs. This technology aligns with China’s accelerating commercial space industry, which has seen an increase in launch activities and is seeking more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.
