Realme has announced the discontinuation of support for its own user interface, Realme UI, and will instead fully adopt Oppo's ColorOS starting with its new devices and certain existing models. This change aims to unify the software experience between the two companies and reduce maintenance costs, while maintaining a similar user experience due to the significant similarity between the two interfaces. ColorOS 17 introduces design improvements, AI-powered tools, enhanced notification management, and security features. An upgrade is expected for a wide range of Realme phones, including the GT, number series, P, C, and Narzo series, as well as tablets. A specific release schedule has not yet been announced, but it is anticipated that Oppo will begin first, followed by Realme gradually rolling out the updates. The change in name and interface is expected to have limited impact on users, as many features previously exclusive to Oppo will now be available, thanks to the longstanding similarities between the software environments.
