OpenAI is developing a new consumer device based on artificial intelligence, designed to be a permanent member of users' lives. It features a luxurious circular design with moving parts that express its interactions, without a screen, resembling a candy or doughnut ring. The device is expected to be market-ready by 2027, priced between $300 and $400. Its goal is to provide a smart alternative to the phone and expand a family of devices powered by ChatGPT models, assisting users through live, personalized interactions that include advanced environmental recognition and sensing. The device incorporates sophisticated technologies, including a camera system and sensors to understand its surroundings. It boasts a luxurious design in collaboration with Jony Ive and aims to integrate artificial intelligence into daily life in a more natural and interactive way, with a focus on privacy and security. It is anticipated to revolutionize the concept of household and interactive devices.
