The article discusses a significant transformation in the future of the web thanks to generative artificial intelligence. The concept of the "Web of Agents" is evolving, where intelligent software agents take on the role of discovering information, interacting with services, and executing tasks on behalf of users, rather than relying on humans to browse directly. The article explains that protocols such as MCP, A2A, and AG-UI enable the coordination and organization of relationships among agents and services, facilitating collaboration and allowing these agents to perform complex tasks independently. It also suggests that this shift could reshape the economic and social structure of the internet, with the intermediary agent becoming the primary interface, thereby reducing the need for direct site visits and impacting revenue models based on advertising and traffic. The article emphasizes the importance of establishing rules for regulating the relationship between agents and platforms to ensure transparency and interoperability. It also considers the potential for an open web or the emergence of digital "walled gardens," along with a redefinition of the human role in interacting with the internet.
