Paris Police Warns of Out-of-Control Student Protests
The student protest movement in France is facing a significant escalation, with the situation described as "out of control" by Paris's police chief. Demonstrations began earlier this week, protesting against classroom conditions, teacher shortages, and deteriorating school buildings. As a result, around 5,000 students—mostly teenagers—have been arrested, dozens injured, and damages amounting to millions of euros have been caused. Authorities have called on the protesters to adopt peaceful methods, warning that the police will respond firmly to violence and vandalism. Meanwhile, unions plan to organize nationwide protests on Tuesday, amid fears that extremist groups might exploit the events and that acts of violence could increase.
