Saudi Defense Minister signals collective deterrence
Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman announced the activation of collective deterrence for the Mecca Alliance against any attacks on the Kingdom, including Mecca and Medina, as part of the joint defense efforts between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. This statement came following an urgent meeting of the alliance's Political and Defense Strategy Committee, which condemned the attempts to target Mecca and the threats facing the Kingdom. The three countries have decided to implement immediate measures to deploy troops and enhance military capabilities, aiming to deter threats and ensure the security and safety of Saudi territory. This development comes amid escalating tensions, ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi lands, and a Yemeni military campaign against the Houthis.
