Iran protests France over student rally
Iran summoned the French ambassador in Tehran to deliver an official protest note regarding the violent response of French security forces to student protests that began in late September. The students were demanding support for education and protesting against funding shortages and weakened educational services. Iran pointed out the ongoing clashes between police and protesters, accusing Paris of using excessive force to disperse peaceful demonstrations. The protests have expanded to include more than 250,000 demonstrators across various French provinces. Iran also took advantage of these events to criticize the French government, deeming its security methods incompatible with human rights standards and aiming to ease tensions related to students' rights and education in France.
