Expand remote breast imaging to 6 states by 2026
The Tunisian Ministry of Health plans to expand the remote mammography experience to six inland states before the end of 2026, following the success of the Tozeur model, which helped reduce waiting times and decrease costs for patients. The project aims to connect mammography devices to the digital hospital system to support early breast cancer diagnosis and address the shortage of specialists in remote areas. Since the implementation of the digital hospital project in Tunisia began in August 2025, all regional hospitals have been equipped with advanced imaging devices, and efforts are underway to expand remote imaging services to include mammography, making it easier to obtain specialized diagnoses in inland areas.
