Kairouan confiscates 1.1 tons of subsidized sugar
The economic monitoring teams of the Regional Directorate of Trade in Kairouan seized 1.1 tons of subsidized household sugar following inspection operations carried out on October 8th and 9th, 2026. These operations resulted in the issuance of three economic violations related to breaches of support regulations. These measures are part of efforts to combat manipulation of the subsidized sugar and attempts to distribute it outside designated channels, especially at wholesale points of sale. The goal is to protect market balance and ensure that support reaches those who are eligible.
