Louvre faces potential closure

Approximately a year ago, the Louvre Museum was subjected to the theft of eight pieces of French crown jewelry, exposing significant security vulnerabilities within the institution. The museum's director, Christophe Loriou, warned that the museum faces the threat of future closure if comprehensive renovations and upgrades are not carried out, including work on the historic building and infrastructure. This highlights the urgent need to implement the "Louvre... A New Renaissance" project, launched in 2025, which aims to restore the building, enhance the protection of collections, and reorganize visitor flow to ensure the museum's future.
