Economic Balance Project 2027 targets Islamic landmarks
The Economic Balance Project for 2027 aims to increase the number of religious landmarks to 6,928, compared to 6,808 in 2026. This will be achieved through building and development permits, with a focus on improving service facilities such as allocating spaces for women and developing Kuttab (religious schools) in areas with limited coverage. The project also includes the maintenance of approximately 22 religious sites to preserve heritage and enhance suitable conditions for religious rituals. Additionally, it emphasizes regulating the Umrah sector, updating guides for pilgrims and guides, and developing the national Hajj system. The project also encourages connecting mosques to solar energy and implementing smart technologies to optimize water and electricity consumption.
