Gafsa Cereal Acreage Plan
Agricultural development services in Gafsa have planned 4,200 hectares of durum wheat and 900 hectares of barley for the 2026–2027 field-crop season. Supplies of high-quality seeds had reached 47% by November 5, with 2,400 quintals received out of the 5,150 planned. Sowing is set to begin in mid-month. The region needs 600 tonnes of ammonium nitrate and 2,400 tonnes of “D-A-T,” and a regional committee has been established to monitor their supply.
