Egypt high school exam cheating crisis
With the start of the Egyptian secondary school exams, the recurring issue of leaks has resurfaced with the return of cheating groups like "Shuuminj," who claim to leak exam questions via social media platforms, despite the Ministry's denial of any official leaks. This phenomenon dates back several years and poses a challenge to the government's efforts to maintain exam integrity. It is linked to attempts to increase the use of technology as alternatives to cheating, such as question banks and electronic exams. The problem persists despite legal and on-the-ground measures, but experts point to the need for deeper reforms in the examination system and the instillation of ethical values to curb the phenomenon.
