Syria transitions from Captagon hub to partner
Syria celebrated International Drug Prevention Day, praising its transformation from a hub for producing and trafficking Captagon to an active partner in combating it after the fall of the Assad regime. Since December 2024, authorities have dismantled more than 15 drug manufacturing facilities and 13 storage sites. Nationwide campaigns are underway to enhance international cooperation and develop new enforcement methods, including implementing stricter security measures at border crossings. These efforts aim to reduce drug proliferation and achieve stability.
